Update on the Christmas Angels

Angel

There has been an overwhelming response to the appeal to knit Christmas Angels, so that, as a church, we can reach out to our community and share the love of God with as many as possible. Some knitters have produced 100 angels, others 50 and some keep handing in smaller bundles. I would estimate we may be handing out in excess of 400 by the time Christmas is on our doorstep.

The idea is that these angels will come as a surprise to the recipient. They will be placed on doorsteps, in porches, on café tables, in schools and local businesses. They will carry a message of good will from Adel Parish Church. I have produced some labels to be attached to the angels. The time is fast approaching for us to get organised and decide who is going to deliver the angels and when. The ideal time will be in the run up to Christmas, so maybe mid-December onwards.
We knitters need to decide where all of the angels are to be distributed.

I fear there may be some knitters I do not know about, so could all of you communicate with me so that we can discuss what is going to be done about your angels? Obviously some of you may wish to deliver your own, but others may not want or be able to do so. As long as I know your wishes, I can make sure that someone will be able to deliver the angels.

For all the non-knitters among you

If you would like to help in this venture but are not a knitter, you can still help. Please give me a ring if you would be happy to deliver the angels.

Thank you so much, everyone, for your response to this appeal.

Café Church

On Sunday 30th December we are holding our next Café Church. Our previous ventures of this type have provided enjoyment for people of all ages. The short service in the setting of the church hall, with refreshments and conversation, appealed to all. Do come along and see for yourself. The informality of it may be just what you need.
