Service Details

8:30 am Sunday - BCP Eucharist

This is a quiet, said service using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and therefore in traditional language. There is no music at this service, it lasts about 30 minutes.

10:00 am Sunday - Parish Communion

This is our principal service on a Sunday and is a sung Eucharist.

The service has two readings plus the Gospel for the day, hymns are sung and a sermon is preached. The service usually lasts about an hour.

Junior Church, held ‘alongside’ the 10.00 Parish Communion Service, caters for children from three to eleven at the Old Stables. All ages in the church family join together for the beginning of the service; the children leave during the first hymn to go down to the Old Stables (the Church Hall next to the church on Back Church Lane) for age-appropriate exploration of the day’s readings; Junior Church return in time to receive communion or God’s blessing with the rest of the church family.

(Junior Church runs in term time, and occasional other Sundays. On the 3rd Sunday of each month we have our All Age service – please see below)

Anyone is welcome, and anyone of any age who is baptised is welcome to share in the sacraments (bread and wine). If you prefer to receive a blessing, please come to the altar, but keep your hands by your sides so that we know that is your intention.

Please note that this service will probably be streamed live on our YouTube channel.

You are especially welcome to meet and get to know people over coffee, squash and biscuits afterwards at the Old Stables. You turn left out of the church door and follow the ‘crowds’.

10:00 am Sunday - All Age Worship - Every Third Sunday In The Month

Every third Sunday in the month, we have a less formal service. The service is shorter in length and simpler in language than other Sunday Parish Communions and we have only one reading. At this service in place of a sermon, we explore the reading together. Children stay in church for this service, and our young people often help with leading different aspects of the service.

Music for this service is provided by our music group – new members are always welcome. If you are interested, please contact [email protected]

Please note that this service will probably be streamed live on our YouTube channel.

Everyone is again welcome to meet and get to know others over coffee, squash and biscuits, in the Old Stables after the service. As before turn left!

6:30 pm Sunday - Evensong

This traditional service with hymns uses the Book of Common Prayer: a sermon is preached, the Canticles, the hymns and the setting are sung, whilst the Psalm is said.

This service is held every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month – on the third Sunday of the month we are joined by our choir who lead the music and sing an anthem for us. This service is followed by light refreshments and the chance to chat.

11.00 am Wednesday Mornings - Said Eucharist

This is a Said Eucharist using Common Worship (the service used on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am). There are two readings and a short homily. The service lasts about 30 minutes.

3:15 pm third Thursday of every month - Said Eucharist + beverages

This is a said Eucharist service held in the Old Stables, very similar to the Wednesday service, but followed by a cup of tea and the chance for a chat. Everyone is welcome, but this is particularly suitable for those who struggle to walk along the path to the church. The Stables is more easily accessible, and cars can be brought to the door.
